I found another double ‘fairy stone’ and a wild turkey feather on the trail. The ground is littered with these fossils and I suppose they don’t mean much to anybody else but I’ve always been a relic hunter. I spent a significant amount of time digging in the dirt looking for stuff but this is something different. This stuff is much older. Anyway, I like the moment in time things like this represent. Sharks teeth found 200 miles inland, stuff like that.
I should probably take a shovel out there and see what else we can dig up. I’ve done a little further research and learned this stuff is at least 250 million years old, according to actual scientific research. I’m shocked and amazed at the formations I’ve seen in addition to fossilized marine life lying on the ground. Too bad there is no oil or gold in them there hills.
I’m a fossil hunter, it’s always been fascinating to me as long as I can remember. I might as well do something with my time. It’s certainly not hurting anything.
